My 1966 Buick Special

This car was bought in 1968 by my Grandmother in Fort Worth, Texas. After surviving my brother and I learning to drive with it in the 80's, it got a bit run down until I decided to restore it in 1995. It's no classic, so the restoration was more for sentimental reasons than financial. I repaired over 60 minor and major dents on the body, along with several rust holes, and had the car painted its original color of Shadow Turquoise (Dark Green). It's a 4-door sedan with power steering, AC, and a weird 2 speed automatic transmission. The engine is a 300cid V8 2bbl. Interior is all original two-tone green bench seats. I am currently searching for a cheap parts car and/or other owners. Email me if you have a car like this or know someone who does.

Before and after shots of the body taken Summer 1995

The roof was dented around the edges and rusting through the paint. This work required removing the headliner, which was replaced after repairs to the stitching.

The black paint job was cheap and eight years old. I sanded it down to the original green paint before starting the body work.

I failed to get a picture of the rusty trunk. This is after the trunk area had been sandblasted and primed. Note the black has been partially stripped from the quarter panel and the quarter panel extensions, bumpers, tail lights, etc., have been removed. Afterwards, it looked like a new car back there!

The driver's door had been knocked clean off the car. After much hammering and bondo, it looks pretty good, though I'd still like to replace the door if I could find one...
